But her life was touched by sorrow — a curse bound her spirit to the world of shadows after her death.
On the night of the Crimson Moon, when the boundary between worlds grew thin, Aiko’s soul began to drift toward the Realm of the Afterlife, her light fading with each passing moment.
Sensing her plight, the ancient koi of the sacred pond stirred. These were no ordinary fish — they were celestial guardians, gifted with wisdom and the power to bridge realms.
In a shimmering dance beneath the blood-red sky, the koi wove a spiral of silver and gold currents, encircling Aiko’s fading spirit. Their song, a soundless hymn of life and hope, resonated through the veils of existence.
With each graceful motion, the koi drew Aiko’s soul back toward the world of the living. At dawn, when the first rays of sunlight kissed the pond, her spirit was restored — freed from the curse, forever protected by her koi saviors.
To this day, the villagers say that when the moon turns crimson, you can still glimpse the koi’s dance — a timeless promise that beauty, love, and life can transcend even the grip of death.
